I already know that, but as with the sw for the 8042, making adjustmentsfrom a laptop would be much easier and quicker, especially naming thepresets. I would have also purchased the ecm8000, but nobody had anyavailable until July 5 at the earliest. Nobody seems to have any in stock.Since I am only using 2 mics, a lapel (Shure omni) for amplification andrecording and a choir mic for recording only (for audience response), Iwill have to use the lapel for the RTA and make adjustments from there, unless I can locate a measurement mic I could borrow, IF I have the time tocall around.
I have a lot of maintenance to do before the conference. Thanks for the rational response.Mike D.Mike Dobony16.06.08 14:44. Mike Dobony wrote: Thanks for the rational response. Mike D. PS additional benefit of software, backing up the setting to file. Will I have to redo all my settings if I upgrade the firmware? If so, having a profile on the computer will quickly get me back up and running. One can easily copy all the settings to your computer via the MIDIport. I've done it many times.
I believe I'm using an Alesis SysExprogram, same one I used with my QuadraVerb and my Wedge.I'm sure other SysEx up/down loaders are out there.Later.Ron Capik-DougD16.06.08 20:26. Interestingly, I have a computer running SmaartLive at FoH, I use aBehringer ecm800 via a Creative USB soundcard.I tried an Audio Technica tieclip mike directly into the computersonboard mike input just as an experiment and found that the waveformproduced was remarkably close to that produced by the Behringer over theusable audio range. It`s not very scientific I know, but the displaygives me a fair idea where the energy is going, I`ve seen people usingthe built in mikes on laptops to do the same thing and I would hope thateven the AT lav is better than the average laptop mike.Ron(UK)Marc Amsterdam17.06.08 01:32.

MUCH cheaper and much less pan when the mike gets nicked. If i dont want to setup au25 and mic the mic in a macbook pro is finefor phase response the spectrograpgh and relative frequentyresponse, mostly the basic needs on the road.this all keeping in mind that measuring is ONLY relative to theperformance of measurment equipment used, and in no way a substitutefor using your ears and good taste.Mike Dobony17.06.08 06:12.

Springfield, misery, er Missouri.Hey, have you ever worked on the crew at SWMSU (I think.?)? I workedfor a sound company that came in there in late Feb/early March for acountry music radio station listener appreciation show, usually on aSunday afternoon. It's been a few years, though.Mike Dobony17.06.08 06:26. 'Mike Dobony' wrote in messagenews:[email protected]. I was pretty certain I downloaded some software to run the DEQ from a computer a few years ago when the 2496 first came out.No, that would be the DCX software not the DEQ.

You are confused as usual.Unfortunately I have also had 2 major HD crashes since then and lost a lot of information. The manual says that the unit can be fully controlled through the MIDI port. How can you do that without a SW interface?Via a midi controller maybe?Jeez, come on Bony, you boast that you must be right because you claim toteach sound but then you get simple stuff like this wrong? You even thinkSM58s are omnidirectional.PhildoPhildo22.06.08 11:33.
IMO the Behringer DCX2496 offers the best bang for the buck in a DSP-based crossover. It is 1/5 the street price of the EV Dx38. For prosound use, the EV might be a better choice in some applications but for home use, why pay more for less capability and fewer features? You can download the user manuals from both manufacturere's sites.BTW, you'll need two of the EV units to split the audio three ways in a left/right loudspeaker array. The Behringer has six outputs which can be configured many ways depending on your loudspeaker configuration. The DCX2496 will be the next addition to my on-going Klipschorn upgrade project. While I'm quite happy with Al Klappenberger's ES crossovers along with the Trachorn and the Beyma tweeters, I've always wanted to hear the benefits of a 'time-aligned' crossover set up.You can get a refurbed DCX2496 from Musician's Friend for $225.00 or new for $270.00 with free shipping.Lee.
